The Multiple Choice Parser is a great tool to use for quickly entering a group of multiple-choice questions into a test or survey. It allows you to copy/paste a group of questions directly from a word document into the Rievent Platform. The Multiple Choice Parser will only work for multiple choice and true/false question types. In order for the parser to work correctly, the text must be entered in a certain format. Each question needs to be separated by a blank line and correct answers need to be marked with an asterisk (*). The sample format examples below will all parse correctly:
1. Sample Question
a. answer choice 1
*b. answer choice 2
c. answer choice 3
2) Another sample question
answer choice without choice letter 1
answer choice without choice letter 2
correct answer without choice letter choice 3*
##sample rationale
Sample question without question number or choice letters
*True
False
How to Use the Multiple Choice Parser:
When setting up the test or survey from the Production Wizard, click the Add Question or Text button, then select Multiple Choice Parser from the menu.
When formatting the multiple choice questions for the parser, follow the guidelines below:
- Be sure a blank line separates each question.
- Mark correct answers with an asterisk (*) at the beginning or end of the answer choice.
- Add rationale by using a double hashtag "##" and including it as the first or last answer choice for the question
- The parser will automatically convert any HTML tags included in the import.
Below are sample formats to use when parsing:
1. Sample Question
a. answer choice 1
*b. answer choice 2
c. answer choice 3
2) Another sample question
answer choice without choice letter 1
